Hi,I'm Marco and this is my first question on this forum.
I have done a mesh for a NACA0012 airfoil with 11% solidity on ICEM. Then I've repeated the same passages for a NACA0012 airfoil with 6% solidity (smaller chord). But in this case I have some problems with the mesh near the airfoil tail. I have done an arc to close the airfoil profile, then I have divided it in two parts and put 5 nodes on each one. I also have tried different types of junction (not only an arc) for the tail but the differences are minimal. I upload the two images to compare these two cases. Could anyone help me correct the second mesh? Thank you |

Hi Marco,
can you try to put triangulation and topology tolerance to a much smaller value than your arc's radius, and try again? You could also play with the distribution of nodes over the arc in order to get smaller prims at the far end. If that's not helping, have a look on page 59 of "Simon's Tips&Tricks" guide which can be found in the sticky post of this subforum. Best regards, Sebastian |
