I`m trying to mesh the geometry attached using quad-hex cells. I`m facing problem at sharp corners and hence mesh is showing a quality of 0.01. Please give a look and suggest how to improve quality in this.

What do I see in the picture? I see geometry lines, and blocking lines? What is which?

Hi Abhi,

have a look into the sticky post of this subforum (again). There you'll find an awesome guide called: Simon’s tips and trick on ICEM CFD
On slide 97 and 98 you'll find a similar problem solved with different methods.

The problem is, plain hexa is not suited for such corners. Try to understand why the quality criterion returns 0.01? Also check against skewness, and determinant, try to understand what these quantities mean. By then, you'll understand why a rectangle squeezed to almost a line will result in bad quality criterion.

Best regards,
Sebastian

Dear Sebastian,

I tried that option but quality is not going beyond 0.04.
