Meshing a faceted body

Hi all,

I'm trying to mesh a tidal inlet with Ansys Meshing but I'm having some difficulties. The geometry is composed of 4 faces (Inlet, Outlet, Symmetry and Wall) and my objective is to model a flow flowing through the interior volume confined by the 4 surfaces.

I tried two methods:
  1. Meshing surface bodies:

The geometry is made up of 4 surfaces (see Fig. 1). The problem with this method is that when I mesh the geometry I get a surface mesh (i.e. only the surfaces are meshed but the interior).
  1. Meshing a facet body:

The geometry is made of only one solid body (see Fig. 2). This method allows me to mesh the interior of the body. The problem with this method is that I cannot name the faces that define each of the 4 boundaries. Therefore, when the mesh is imported in Fluent I can set the boundary conditions.

Does anybody knows how can I proceed?

Thank you.

Kind regards,

Edu
