Hello there. I am working on simulation of flow through Shell and Tube Heat exchanger with Continuous Helical Baffle.
I have created the design in "Autodesk Inventor" and the imported it into "Design Modeler(DM)". I used the "Surface from Edges" command in DM to create the fluid part inside the shell and tube and then used "FILL" command in order to create a fill geometry.
Then imported the geometry to 'ANSYS MESHING 19.2". I used "HexDominant Method" for meshing.
The fluid in the shell part failed to mesh, rest everything has been meshed.
In the Messages it is showing error as 1."Mesher failed to mesh topological edges." 2."The mesher can not determine the endpoints for one or more edges." 3."A mesh could not be generated using the current meshing options and settings."

I searched for troubleshooting options online and tried to inculcate the same in my problem, but to my disappoint it failed.
When I clicked on "Show Problematic Geometry" on the error message it showed the Edges of the Continuous Helical Baffle as RED Dot.
As I am new to CFD, I don't know what to do with that Red Dot on the edge of Baffle plate.
Or if I have to change the Geometry of the Baffle plate itself.
I tried to give a 1mm FILLET(Surface curve) to the edge of the baffle where it is showing RED dot but it didn't worked.
I have attached the pictures of the same as an attachment file.

Kindly help for the particular problem.

Gweher will become famous soon enough
Hi guys,

I suspect that this comes from some some of the imported geometry features. Sometimes the geometry definition at the CAD level is not properly "transposed" into DM. You could either play around under the import features > Heal bodies / Clean bodies, or use the repair tool under > Tools > Repair > Repair edges.

If this doesn't work out would you mind to quickly upload the .wbpz archive.

Have fun
