Bad elements in fine boundary layer

Hello everyone,
I have a problem with inflation layers on an o-gird. My mesh quality without inflation layers is pretty decent. Talking about determinant higher than 0.8, angles higher than 30. The O-grid is a single outer o-grid of a cylinder. The cylinder itself is not part of the Domain so the block got deleted after the creation of the outer o-grid. Now I need to add inflation layers to the surface of the cylinder with a pretty narrow first cell height of 0.001mm. The following pre-mesh Parameters are applied: Maximum size: 0.1 Height: 0.001 Height ratio: 1.2 Num layers: 20 Tetra size ratio: 1.2 Now I get negative cells in the boundary layer. I already tried to decrease the triangulation tolerance which does not seem to do anything at all and I also already activated the "set to bsplines" option in the hexa mesh setup which also does not solve the issue. I really don't know what the problem is, so maybe you can help me out with that. I appreciate your help! Best regards! |
