I am a beginner in using ANSYS fluent.
In order to create different scale of mesh, my model was separated into two parts. When I was using fluent and displayed the interface (As seen in Fig. 1) and the wall_outer_surface.1 (As seen in Fig. 2) in boundary conditions, the interface between the two parts was displayed in both the two conditions. So I guess there are 2 layers in this interface. One was set as interface and another can not be choosed, then the system set it as wall. But I do not know how to choose the other layer in meshing.
Of course the category of the interface is not wall. If set as wall, the calculation is absolutely wrong.
But I do not know how to choose the other layer in meshing.
Would you please explain it and teach me how to solve this problem? Thank you!

I don't know how to add attachments. You can see the three figures in this link.

Are the two surface bodies in the same part in Design Modeler/Meshing? If so, an interface is undefined, since the two bodies would be meshed conformally. If you want to mesh the surfaces non-conformally, then you will need to split the bodies into their own parts in Design Modeler (right click on the body in the feature tree and select 'Form New Part')

Additionally, you need to assign a named selection to both sides of the contact. Fluent requires that you have the contacting faces split into two groups (named selections) based on which cell zone they belong to. For example, 'interface-inner-surface' for the edges in contact that belong to the inner surface body and 'interface-outer-surface' for the edges in contact that belong to the outer surface body.

With the set of contacting faces split into two groups, you can then create a mesh interface.

Thank you very much! Now I can add two named selections in both sides of the interface.
