Hello friends!
The ansys meshing user guide prompt "Minimum Edge Length - Read-only indication of the smallest edge length in the part".

We can't change the value of minimum edge length? If I change it ,what's the influence?
Thank you very much!
your sincerely hotboy!

Minimum Edge Length is just an indication what's minimum Edge length in your model. You cant change it manually.
It changes automatically if you put edge sizing, face sizing or any other Constraints on your model.

Cheers

Hi ,

In my model, in DM (using small entity search) I found the shortest edge length to be 0.4 mm. But in Meshing, the minimum edge length is shown of the order of 10^-4 mm. Is this an error ? Because, this seems to create problems in meshing, skewness being 0.999 or 1. IF not, why is there such a difference in edge length in DM and meshing?

With Regards
Vignesh

Hi Vighnesh
I am also facing exactly same issue. Did you find out why this was occurring, please do let me know if you find out.

Hi Adithya,

I dont know yet. But what I did was repair the geometry until I get a reasonable minimum edge length in Mesher (Approx 0.1 mm and above)
