user9 is on a distinguished road
I have a 2-d rectangular geometry of length 7.5 mm and width 0.25 mm.

In meshing I made 1000 divisions ( edge sizing) of length and 40 division of width.
Now how do I determine my element size.
In literature I have frequently encountered a mesh of element size 5 micron.

How can I determine such size.

Is there anything in mesh metrics itself??
