Hi. I am simulating an airfoil which is equipped with vortex generators.

vortex generators are the triangular bodies which are installed on upper surface of the airfoil in order to improve L/D ratio. I have just uploaded the picture of the geometry in attachments.

I intended to use Inflation mesh with First Layer Thickness option in order to control yplus values over the foil, but the Orthogonal Quality had become lower - specially in vortex generators' locations and trailing edge - when I used inflation.

what is your suggestion to use inflation without have decreases in Orthogonal Quality?

By the way, I had changed Maximum Angle to 180 in inflation advanced options, but the problem still remained. If you want another information -including mesh file or anything else- I can give you in next posts.

You can provide fillet on the edges of the vortex generators and then use the curvature proximity feature in Ansys Fluent or a similar feature on whichever tool you are using. That helps refine the mesh around the vortex generators.
