Go to the Display tab in the ribbon. On the right end is the Display / Show drop down menu to activate the ruler, legend and triad.

Unfortunately, that does not always work. Here is a screenshot of the Display tab and there is nothing that allows the ruler to be shown.

I know of three other options:
1. You can measure the distance between two vertices if you pick the vertex filter and click then control click a second vertex, the distance between them is shown on the bottom of the screen. 2. You can see the co-ordinates at the bottom of the screen when you've selected one of your solutions and probed two (or more) points. 3. You can use hit point coordinate |

Ah. As you can see in the screenshot I posted, there is nothing to the right of "Sync ViewPorts" in my version (19.2), whereas you have an additional box with a sub-box called "Show". I can't tell what is written on the bottom because you have shown it with the drop-down activated. It must be a version difference, I guess. If anyone knows how to do this in 19.2, please let me know! |

This screen was from 2021 R1.
I have never seen 2019 R2 and I've been using ANSYS since version 10.0. I have R19.2 (which does not have the GUI ribbon layout for me) and it was only from 2020 R1 that the notation changed for the commercial version I have been using. |

Ok, thanks for looking. Do you have any idea where else I could go to get an answer? I often want to include images of my meshes in reports and such and it is very annoying that I do not have a scale to include. Where would you go to look if this were you? |

I checked the 2019 R2 Mechanical User Guide and it shows the Ruler option in the Show drop-down box. I do not know why are not seeing it. I suggest you contact ANSYS Tech Support or upgrade to a newer version

Great, thank you! I searched the documentation and didn't find this. You say it is in the Mechanical User's Guide? Perhaps that is why I didn't see it - I was searching in the Fluent User's Guide since I was using Fluent Mesher, not Mechanical. Maybe they differ? Thanks again. |

Your picture shows that you are not using Fluent Meshing, which is native in the Fluent Launcher. You are using ANSYS Meshing (which uses the same GUI layout as Mechanical) to make a mesh for Fluent as the outline tree shows you used a Mesh Component System in Workbench.
