Hello everyone,

I have a 3D STL geometry and I want to know how can I create a structured mesh for it ?

I opened the STL file in ICEM through the following command:

File => Import Geometry => Faceted => STL.

But I can't select geometry lines. As if they are locked.

Is it possible to create an structured mesh for 3D STL geometry ?

Thanks.

You have raised this problem multiple times in different queries. And no one proposed a solution. I think you should try a different way. Better use a different file type than .stl. Or asked specialists outside this forum to convert a stl to a real 3D-CAD-model. But this is going to cost money.

I can convert the geometry STL file to a filled solid, but the generated solid geometry is different from the STL geometry.

I am going to mesh the STL geometry directly. In my opinion, when it is possible to import STL geometry to ICEM, it can be gridded.

I have been dealing with this problem for a long time and I have lost a lot of time.

Do you know an ICEM specialist who can help me ?
