Hi everyone, i have a problem with Ansys design modeler. I have to analize flow around an ultralight airplane. The input geometry file is a STEP one and the model was export from SolidWorks as a solid body. The problem is that Ansys sees it as a surface. I tried a lot of methods (fill, extrude, repair, curve gap, thin etc ) to solve this issue, also in spaceclaim ambient but nothing happened and without a solid i can't use the boolean operation "subtract" to create my domain and then create the mesh and do the analysis. Could you help me please? It's for my thesis for university

- Since your tried different ANSYS tools, it looks like the export is from Solidworks is the problem. Or did you also try other software?
- Add pictures. That mostly helps a lot. |

Hi..Yes i tried other softwares like catia. I imported the file on catia and exported it as step, stl and other types of files but Fluent always sees it as a surface. The problem is that the other softwares sees it like a solid, while Fluent doesn't

Who is complaining? Was it Design modeler? But now you mention Fluent?
Are you on the route to Fluent Meshing or to ANSYS Meshing? Please share a picture. A picture says more than 1000 words. |
