Hi all,

I am working on conjugate heat transfer. I have two zones in my computational domain: one solid and one fluid. The fluid zone is rectangular channel surrounded by solid zone <wall with some thickness>. I am currently trying to create Prism layers in fluid zone. However, at the fluid-solid interface, a surface common for both solid and fluid, the Prism layers are formed for both solid and fluid in ICEM CFD. It is weird as Prism layers are needed only in fluid zone. How to solve this issue? Kindly provide some detailed explanation.

In Setup mesh (second icon in the ribbon), there is a long list with your volumes and all boundaries. There are tick boxes that give you control on which volumes and boundaries are included in the inflation (or prisms) generation.
So, if you don't want inflation in your solid, then untick that volume.

I never use Delauney. I always use Octree and it always works.
Can you share a screenshot of the long list with settings for volumes and boundaries?(you can add a picture using "Go Advanced")

Yes, mate. its working for all meshes. I did something wrong previously. I have a followup question. When i do mesh check operation in ICEM CFD, i didnt receive any errors but i received the following problems.
. Multiple edges
. unconnected vertices
Can it cause any problems in solver?

I think it depends on the solver. Better check it yourself.

I always use CFX. This never complains about this, if I remember correctly.
