In a conjugate heat transfer (CHT) problem, I'm encountering an issue with the fluid and solid interface during the meshing process in ICEM CFD. In **Figure 1**, both the fluid and solid interfaces are selected, and the mesh appears complete with no gaps. However, when the fluid interface is unchecked, as shown in **Image 2**, the interface should only involve the solid region, but I notice some gaps. Similarly, when the solid interface is unchecked, as shown in **Image 3**, parts of the fluid mesh are missing.

Because of this issue, I’m unable to calculate the surface Nusselt number. However, I am able to get velocity and temperature contours.

Is the meshing process done correctly, or is there something that needs to be fixed to resolve these gaps? Any advice on how to properly set up the interfaces in this case would be appreciated.

Is this a 2D geometry that you will use in FLuent?

I'm simulating 3D jet impingement. Separate blocking for the solid and fluid domains has been completed, along with association, block splitting, and O-grid generation. No negative elements are present. While I've associated the interface edges with both domains and attempted to smooth the mesh using "Link Edge," some irregularities remain as shown previous query. Anything I missed!. How to resolve this?

Not sure.
I would check the normals of the surfaces. All planar surfaces should be in the same direction.

You are saying about this?. How to change the direction?

If you have an Interface or Boundary that contains several geometrical surfaces, then all elements on these surfaces should be oriented consistently.

You can do this in the "Edit Mesh" Ribbon, one the last icons: "ReOrient Mesh"
If you show the mesh of the surfaces, and the elements are coloured differently, then they are oriented differently. Use the menu to orient them consistently. The direction itself doesn't matter.

Then see of this helps.
