Meshing for eppler423

What kind of meshing is required for eppler 423.If c-mesh is required can anyone explain the kind of procedures like meshing of its edges.whether it is first length, successive ratio etc. for its edges?

Hi Vishnu,

For airfoil flow analysis C - type mesh is widely used. In some cases like rounded trailing edge O - type mesh is more suitable. I assume you are using E423 airfoil with sharp trailing edge.

You can use first length, last length, successive ratio or the combinations of all, but all depends on how you split your edges and how you want to distribute the points on the airfoil surface. The important factor is more points are needed at the leading edge and trailing edge.

So use trail and error method to find the best option.

Cheers,
Alagesan.
