Quite old thread, but maybe someone can be redirected to the right place to make gambit works with opengl and linux:

jorkolino is on a distinguished road
To all guys that installed Gambit 64 bit on LInux. Which Linux distribution do you use? Do I need necessary RedHat or SLES? I have hard time finding working 64 SLES that supports gambit, and Red Hat is commercial.
(As a side note, people asking about the Gambit 64bit linux version, it should be available in the download page of the fluent.com and later ansys.com portal. I believe I downloaded it there)
