Hello, I am having problems using the ansys 12 multizone method to generate a CFD mesh in the mainfold geometry (tutorial example), due to shape checking: CFD, which is more restrictive.

Message:
Error: The MultiZone meshing has completed, but some bad elements were created. Process aborted.

Does anybody know how to improve mesh quality using this meshing method (multizone) with this constraints (shape cheking:CFD)? So I can generate a mesh.

PS: I am using mapped type Hexa mesh with Hexa Core free mesh type.

Thaks, wainting for discussions.

Jonatas

Since this is a tutorial example, it should work. Perhaps you did something that caused an issue with the later steps. Could you just start fresh?

The MultiZone mesh method is a new meshing approach in 12.0. Perhaps too new for CFD-Onliners to offer much expertise. Although if any do know the solution, please post. I myself have developed enough that I can use it pretty well, but not well enough to diagnose this error with this little info.

I would suggest contacting your local ANSYS support person (email techsupp@ANSYS.com if you don't have another line of contact) to see what could be the problem.

The error you are mentioning sounds pretty generic so it is hard to guess what the problem/solution could be.

There is also a 12.1 version coming out this week which has some improvements in the MultiZone mesh method and techniques to resolve these and other various meshing problems.

We had a midnight watch party last night for the arrival of 12.1, but were sorely disappointed when we did not see it! Today everyone is walking about with the air of defeat.
