I can't understand why there is a hole

Can any one help me?

I'm a new user of ICEM CFD, I want to try to calculate the lift coefficient of S823 airfoil. I built a geometry model by CATIA, of cource there is no hole, but the automatic tetrahedron mesher told me there is a hole and stoped. I tried to use block toplogy to mesh it to hexahedron and succeed strangely, when I import it in to CFX, CFX-Pre can read it successfully but the solver can't solve it. I was really faint of that.

Please help me. It's really a simple problem for experts.

You can visit

to get the shape of S823

Hi

I made the blocking for this geometry. I attached the screen shot of block and premesh. Hope this will help you to proceed

Thank you for your interest.

Your mesh is O grid, and my mesh is C grid. I think C grid is better for geometry with round head and sharp tail. My problem is the hole of the mesh, the O grid can't resolve this proglem.

My tin and blk files were generated by ICEM 12. Yestoday my friend tried to premesh my tin and blk files by ICEM 11, but he found minus volume, maybe that's the reason of the problem, but I'm not sure.

Hi,

If I understood your last reply correctly, then I think you are asking about solid portion of aero foil (in which there is no geometry at all).

For this, you can just delete the block inside the aero foil. It is sufficient.

Hope this will help U. Otherwise explain your questions with more details.
