Hello,

I generated a hybrid mesh including prisms close to the surface and tets in the middle of the geometry with the help of Tgrid. Unfortunately the tets become pretty huge in the middle of the geometry. I tried to fix the problem via setting a smaller "Max Cell Size" value at "Refinement" and I am getting a larger number of elements then, but the tets in the middle of the geometry do not change a lot. Does anybody have an idea what to do?

Thanks a million,
Lilly

you have to change the "growth rate" in "Refinement" try with smaller value

Thank you!
Unfortunately I cannot find this option at "Refinement" (or somewhere else).
Maybe it's because I am using an old version (4.0.16).
I just can find: Max Cell Size, Max Cell Skew, Max Boundary Cell Skew, Min Boundary Cell Skew, Min Boundary Closeness and Boundary Cell Height at "Tri/Tet-->Refinement". Is there maybe another option or can I change the "growth rate" in a different way?

May be try with command in the Tgrid console

1. just type inter first then you will see all options
boundary/ exit mesh/
display/ file/ report/

2. and then type mesh (enter) tritet (enter) controls (enter) cell-size-function (enter) geometric (enter) and then you will see the default value in square brackets and then type the value what ever you want and enter. thats it the value is changed and do the tritet mesh as normal

this is the method in TGrid 3D 5.0.6

cheers
