Hi!

I have a U- shaped tube, water flows into it.
I need to make a Ogrid mesh but I haven't been able to make the curves. I think the problem is in the blocks.
Any help appreciate it. Mabell

Hi, There are an ICEM tutorial which includes the same problem that you have and the way to solve it (blocking strategy and O-Grid creation). Google it to find them, I guess you don't have problems to find it.

Saludos.

Yup, there is a tutorial for it...

The basic steps are to create a CGrid for the basic schematic (C shaped pipe), then delete the central Hgrid block of the CGrid. Then split and fit the remaining blocks to the shape of the pipe, then run an Ogrid (with faces on the ends) thru the pipe.

Anyway, I didn't have the tutorial handy (it is not part of my usual set), so i did a quick rough blocking (attached as an example). And here is a screen shot of my rough mesh (i did it in 2 minutes, so I didn't smooth or even straighten out the edges...)

here is a screen shot from the training. I suggest the top down method as it is faster. Also, you need the last step to put the Ogrid inside the pipe or you will have quality issues with mapping a square block to a round pipe...
