.msh to .neu

Hi everybody,

i have a simulation in Fluent using a ".msh" mesh file. I need this same mesh to start a calculation in Code_Saturne which uses a ".neu" mesh file.

Can I convert the file, or export from Fluent? Others forums say something about use a specific subroutine... What do you propose?

Many tools, such as ICEM CFD, can read in a file in one format and output it in another.

ICEM CFD supports imports in many formats and can output to over 100 formats including .neu.

What tools are in your pocket?

Maybe a quick google search would give you some conversion utilities.

I don't know of one in Fluent, but perhaps someone else here does.

This is not a code_saturne forum, but I can help you with your problem.
Choose IDEAS as the output solver, and then ICEM will create a mesh file with the ".unv" extension. Code_saturne is able to read those mesh files.

Use the "ecs" subroutine of code_saturne to convert your .unv file into the extension you want (-ens for example, I'm using ENSIGHT) and you will be able to vizualise your mesh !

Hello Sir,
i have gone though your posts.....but i am not able to find ...
how to export mesh generated in ICEM CFD in *.neu format.
I have tried many solver option in ANSYS 13 but i am not getting the output file in .neu format...

please tell me how it can be gone......

Sorry Webhaw,

I must have mistyped... You can see by the rest of the message that I was saying the user would need to find a middle format (such as the IDEAS format that BrolY suggested). I would go back and fix that next, but I don't think it lets me once it is quoted, so I apologize to all future readers...

In the mean time, I don't have any way to output the Gambit Neutral file format. We are really much more focused on the much more popular Fluent *.msh format.
