Making wing geometry in Ansys 12.1

Started working on designing an F1 front wing on Solidworks last year but now have to do it using Ansys 12.1's design modeler. I cant import the solidworks geometry in due to install errors.

Basically how can i make a 3D wing. Is there a way to extrude a curve or import in a curve file and then convert it into a sketch like i can do in Solidworks?

Any help would be good as well as if there are better ways to making a wing using the modeler.

Thanks

Then why not reinstall it - it would probably be the easiest way since you have already made the geometry. What error message as you getting? Do you have solidworks installed on the machine?

There are lots of ways you can do this.

Importing a points file can be done under the point feature.

Or you could create points using jscript from a file. An easy way of doing the latter is to create a few points and then in the file menu ask it to "write out script of active plane" (or something similar can't exactly remember the wording).

@Akash

I'm doing a similar project... I seem to be having the same problem where i can't seem to extrude a 3D curve...
But i did import the curve into ansys... vut cant seem to do anythin with it... U basically import the data points into ansys in a specific format.. X, Y and Z triples basically...

hi all, i know the topic is not that new:)
but i wrote a tutorial -ANSYS DesignModeler: import XYZ points from file, make splines, surfaces and body. + Meshing
cheers:)
