meshing gradient

Hello,

I am using gambit.

I want a gradient mesh density along a cylindrical geometry.

I want to divide cylindrical geometry in 3 parts and give different grid density in that region.

Please help for the same.

I tried to do this by splitting the curved face of the cylinder and then meshing these faces first. The mesh is read well but it is showing a very very poor answer. (No convergence at all).

I also approached the problem by using splitting the volume and meshing all volumes differently but then am not able to deal with the connecting face of the cylinders.

Please please help..

thanks

With splits, the volumes will be connected.
I assume you will mesh them with hexa. So the 3 volumes will have the same mesh section and you can only refine in axial direction
