Meshing multiple 3D regions

1 Attachment(s)
Hi, I'm trying to generate a mesh for an LES. The problem consists of having a plate inside a boundary layer. What Im trying to generate is a domain in such a way that I can mesh two regions of it with different meshing caracteristics.

In the attached picture the plate is not shown but it will be placed within the small volume. I want to mesh the small volume in a particular way and then the outer volume (formed by the outer boundaries and the small volume) in a different way.

I tried setting it up so that the small volume had a void inside (plate), and then the outer volume had a void that was the inner volume (containig the plate also). This way I get to mesh the two regions independently but, the meshes are not connected at the interface. Its like having two completely independent meshes.

If anyone know have to set something like this please let me know. thanks

connect all your surfaces

Thanks. I realized that shortly after. It works.
