Mirror mesh and construction lines?

1 Attachment(s)
Hi,

I have a model of a pool of water into which a high speed jet impinges at the centreline. I would like to make a symmetrical mesh left and right of the jet but I have found no way to do this. Is it possible to draw some kind of construction line at the centreline of this pool and mirror the mesh about this line? I have tried to model just half of this problem but I am then able to obtain results graphically for only half the pool and I need them for the whole pool.

I would also like to refine the mesh about the area into which the jet impinges but I have found no way of doing this other than to put a sphere of influence body sizing from a coordinate system created at the bottom edge of the pool. However, when I do this using an all quad mesh, the mesh outside of this area is bad and some triangles are created also.

I have attached a diagram showing contours of velocity using a triangular mesh with a sphere of influence sizing around the middle area. Although it looks fairly as it should, it is not completely correct when compared with experimental results, hence my wish to change the mesh.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Using symmetry, I would be suprised if you cannot mirror your results in Ansys (with Fluent you could)
