Hi everyone,

I have the following problem:

I've made block-structured mesh in ICEM (2D), I applied the boundary conditions, and the airfoil consists of two curves (parts):
-suction side
-pressure side

I used wall BC for both of them, then I convert it into *.msh (before that I must convert it into unstructured mesh).

The problem is: only one of these wall BC-s are remaining, the two parts of the airfoil are merged.
Is there any method, to keep those 2 different parts with the same wall BC different in .msh form as well?

That would be extremely useful for me at post-processing part, handling suction and pressure sides as different parts, even if they make a continuous wall boundary.

Thank you!

Are the underlying curves in different parts?

Yes, they are added as different parts (named airfoil_suction_side and airfoil_pressure_side).

They form a closed, continuous loop, and they have the BC of wall. In ICEM it looks as I want, but when I generate the *msh, one of those parts are disappearing, (the two sides are merging into one wall BC).

What has probably happened is you have an edge (such as the leading edge) associated to both curves. In ICEM CFD, this auto groups those two curves. Then the line elements end up in the single part.

To fix this you can split that leading edge and associate each side separately, or you can fix it at the mesh level by going into Edit Mesh => Repair and associate the mesh with the underlying parts... I forget the exact name of the command, but look at the options under that DEZ and see what you find.

Thanks for the answer.

Meantime I realized what was the problem. When I associated the curves and edges of airfoil, the curves were merged automatically. So I had to split the blocks, which associated to the curves, containing the leading "point" and trailing "point", and then re-associate them.
So finally I had two curves, and two parts, which are kept in FLUENT as well. The list of parts was misleading for me.

Regards
