Hey there.

I have a circular-type (but not exactly) volume that after some difficulty have been able to split into two volumes. I've deleted one of the volumes, leaving just a partial split of the original volume. When I try to reflect-copy this partial volume, the face that connected the two split volumes just blows up and shoots off into a random area. It's supposed to be a very simple, vertical face that split the two volumes, and instead it turns into this ridiculously weird curving thing... any help?

the volumes are virtual, as are the faces, if that's any help.

I have created a person (made of different volumes) in GAMBIT. The person is standing inside a big cube which in itself is a separate volume. I want to study the air flow inside the cube. Do I have to first split/subract or do anything like that with outside volume and the volumes inside it (person) or Can I just go ahead and create edge, face and then volume mesh for the whole thing without specifying any such relation between them?? someone told me it is necessary to split but when Im trying to split the person from the outside volume, it gives me an error "coincident face_face_ints with different body vertices". Can anyone help me??
I would greatly appreciate your response.

Thanks!

unite all the volumes defining your person. Then substract the cube surrounding the person with the volume resulting from the unite process.

Since I am working in GAMBIT, So is it 'merge' that I should use to unite or smthng else?

you can use unite or merge if you are dealing with real entities, and merge if you are dealing with virtual entities

I am trying to unite the different volumes of the person. Basically it is divided into 6 parts---head, two arms, two legs and and center body. The arm is further divided into two parts each so total of 8 volumes for the person. I am able to unite everything but arms. I united the two parts of arm but m unable to unite the arms with the rest of the body. The error it gives is "system inconsistency processing edge coincidence"

does that make sense to you?

try with merge, but if the resulting volume is virtual then you won't be able to substract it from the cube
Else you can send me your dbs file
