Hi,
I would like to mesh a turbomachinery blade channel including blade tip with tetra/prism method. I am already able to mesh that without blade tip and the quality of that mesh is very good. However, I have some problems when I include blade tip. I already have a strategy to do this, but I am not sure of that and this strategy creates a lot of problem when a check the mesh. The figure below shows you my strategy. Strategy: I use ICEM CFD v12.1. I divide the volume around the blade in two parts. The elements in the first part (in red on the figure) are tetra and prism elements created by octree method in compute mesh tool in ICEM CFD. The second block (in green on the figure), located at the blade tip, contains only prism elements. And after, I try to merge the two separate meshs. Also, I create the part2 before part1. However, I have some problems : When I use compute mesh tool to create tetra element in the part1, ICEM is not able to create tetra/prism with periodic condition. This tool say : can't handle existing mesh stradles boundary Please, I ask you : Do you have a better strategy to mesh this?? What does can't handle existing mesh stradles boundary mean?? If it is not clear, I can add more information. It is very important for me! Best Regards, Vinc |
