Hi Dear community members,
I am trying to build automatic shape Optimization loop in python, for meshing i am using ICEMCFD tool. my geomtric input for icemcfd is from catia .igs format , when i import this geom to icemcfd , the iges traslator not maintaining the curve names uniform , let us say one set up curves having name like in series of E_1122, E_1776, E_8888, the other set up curves E_1123, E_1775, E_8887 , like that...if i can able to maintain the curve names i can export the block structured mesh automatically to the loop. please tell me some solution. Thanks yami Last edited by acoustica; July 4, 2011 at 11:55. |

IGES files are not persistent.

IGES files are your weak link... They do not have any persistence.
Try using a format like ACIS (*.SAT), or better yet, use the Catia Direct interface. These will preserve the entity names during updates... Simon

I don't have .SAT option in catia. is there any other way to maintain consistency of curves.

ICEM CFD can read in CatiaV4 files, or you could use the Workbench readers in ICEM CFD to import CatiaV5 files.
