meshquality of centrifugal impeller and blade problem

i tried to mesh my centrifugal impeller and did get problems with the blade. but i think, even if i would manage to get it fixed without errors, i still have a bad mesh quality. someone created me a final mesh, but its still not usable for me since i don't get the quality fixed. i need 3x3 determinants of ~0.3 and min angles of 18. i uploaded the files and it would be nice if i could get some help. impeller_new is made by me and the other file by someoneelse.

regards and thanks in advance

noone who can help?

I just took a quick look at your version (Impeller_new) and see that you don't even have a CGrid around the leading edge of your blade...

You also have mesh jumping across your solid portion, etc.

It is probably too much for me to sort out right now, but maybe I will get back and take another look next week.

@Bellmo

Did you solve your problem?

Bellmo January 5, 2012 14:38

no i didn't. i moved on with turbo grid. but if i get a useable icem mesh, that would be great

well, right now I am working on radial turbine and centrifugal compressor using ICEM and got very good quality meshes (0.4 or better quality) and trying to improve it further. We can work together to solve your problem.

You can download geometry and blocking in this thread http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ans...l-turbine.html
