Default cut a face on a volume (real)

hi max
the pic attached is a spray dryer chamber that hot gas enters it from a ring hole on top of it. I want to creat a ring enterance on the top. is it clear?

no. the annular face must be a part of the total volume and it must be meshed. I want to enter air from it in the chamber.

so you want your top surface divided with a circle, which will describe your annular, right?

yes. on the top surface there is a ring from it hot gas enters the chamber.

create the circle (edge), move it at it right position, and then split top surface with circle
