Can nodes in a face mesh be deleted?

Sometimes Gambit creates unwanted nodes due to which there merge some highly skewed small triangles. I know these triangle can be altered by moving the nodes on their vertices, but sometimes you have to move a couple of adjacent nodes and the result is not always desirable. To delete the extra nodes is obviously a good solution, but I don't know if Gambit allows it.

Sorry for replying so late. I'd thought nobody'd replied me.
I encountered this problem when i meshed a surface on a volume. As you can see in the picture below, there are a couple of highly skewed triangles due to the existence of the nodes to which the red arrows point. As i said above, these triangle can be altered by moving the nodes on their vertices, but sometimes you have to move a couple of adjacent nodes and the result is not always desirable. However, if I deleted the two nodes, which are apparently unnecessary but i don't know why Gambit creates them, the highly skewed triangles would disappear with the red lines (i added) being the new boundaries of a few larger triangles, and the grid would be more even. but i don't know if Gambit allows deleting nodes in a existing grid. Thank you for replying me. |

you cannot delete those nodes.
*but you can move the nodes >> http://my.fit.edu/itresources/manual...face_movenodes *when I encounter this problem, I try to move the nodes (as previously suggested), or I create a vertice on the boundary edge (near the skewed cells), and I apply a size function on the vertice.

I have tried moving the nodes to alter the shapes of some highly skewed triangles, but sometimes i had to move some more nodes around them to get a desirable result. so i think it'd be a shortcut to delete those unwanted nodes. Thank you for you suggestions.
