Hello,
I am currently working on a project to analyse the flow over a Ahmed Body. I have been told to use an unstructured volume mesh to do this, however being the first time using ICEM I am having some issues. From my understanding, I have to; - Import geometry from Solidworks - Draw wind box around the car - Add surfaces to the car and box - Divide up the geometry into parts (Car, Walls, Inlet & Outlet) - Add bodies? (I have added a 'FLUID' region and a 'ORFN' region) - Create a mesh - Play with Global and Part mesh set-up - Add density box in wake region - Compute mesh Have I missed any steps? Does anyone have experience with using unstructured volume meshes in ICEM that would be able to give me some advice? I have used the search, but haven't found anything relevant. Thanks, Parms |

yes, you are right.
The most important step is to adjust the distribution of mesh node. Perform computations with a small grid system to get some insight with the gradient of variables. So you can refine the mesh at coressponding places. |
