Interface between hexa and triangular domains

Dear all,
I'm modelling a 2D geometry in which I need to analyze both fluid and solid domains. I meshed the fluid with hexa mesh but i need the solid to be meshed with unstructured triangular elements. I managed to do so but I don't know how to make the nodes matching at the interface between the two boundaries. Is there a way to force the build-up of the unstructured mesh using the nodes on the structured side? Any help is appreciated. Thanks a lot, Rob |

I saw that on the "edit mesh" tab there is a "merge nodes" option but apparently it works only for volume meshes.
Does anyone know how to overcome this problem? Rob |

Fill the triangular mesh with tetras using delaunay... merge, then delete...
But after the merge, you won't have tri mesh, you will have quads... Is there some reason you want triangle mesh?

When creating your geometry make sure you "form new part" from the two bodies. This makes the node points match
In meshing: 1.) Suppress solid body 2.) Generate mesh of fluid body. 3.) Unsuppress solid body 4.) I don't do 2D but in 3D I would do sweep method, specify source and target faces and select "All Tri" |
