How to deal with a really complex geometry
 

Dear Members,

i have to deal with a real complex Geoemtry (about 30 parts). I've worked trough some ICEM Tutorials and now I want to import the geometry from Pro/E to ICEM. Therefore I will use the step-format. The first thing, in which I fail, is to create the fluid-geometry.

How can this be done in ICEM? In Ansys Mechanical are there some functions like enclousere or so on, but I wasn't able to find a method which is suitable for me in ICEM.

I know, I have to create material points, but create these in over 30 parts is really annoying.

Yes, you have to create your material points. It really shouldn't take much effort, even with 30 parts. Just have to click two points in each part. Depending on the connectivity of your parts though, you might not need 30 material points. If they are all connected and you want the entire domain to be fluid, as little as one material point should be fine. For this to work, you would have to delete any surfaces where your parts touch.
