Hi All
I have just drawn a model car using Solidworks and am currently trying to import the geometry into Ansys using the usual plugin, but the attach keeps failing. I have also tried to import it separately as an STL file with the same result.
The car has been modeled mostly using the surface functions in Solidworks, with all faces knitted together and merged to form the final part.

Has anyone had experiences of this before, or found ways to stop Ansys continually rejecting Solidworks' geometry?

Thanks for that, however my problem occurs at the generate attach state. Where the model in this clip has appeared in design modeller when the user has pressed generate, mine simply returns the error 'unable to attach' and a red exclamation mark replaces the lightening bolt next to the Solidworks icon.

you must check whether your solidworks version is compatible with the ICEM or not.

You can import as Parasolid or IGES or STEP formats.

I feel version compatibility issue.
