Interface and peroidic

Hi All

I'm stuck with this problem and need help

I will explain briefly

My geometry is 1/3 of wind turbine domain
I had one small domin aorund blade which is rotate and a big domain around the small which is stationary .... this is a typical MRF problem

Between this domains the surface must be interface ( i spent one month for making it interior , finally i discovered it must be interface :mad:)

every thing alright include periodic sides until i made (Split mesh => Split Internal Wall) the problems as following :

1- When i do a "check mesh", bad periodic problem result such as (shell has node which has no twin) and Fluent NOT accept the mesh

2-i don't know whether fluent didn't accept the mesh due to periodic problem or due to splitting internal wall

Finally i need to know the difference between interface B.c (which specified in Icem before send mesh to fluent and Mesh interface which made in fluent) ... because if they the same the problem will solved and no need for splitting the wall

I thought in many directions But no solution results

regards
thanks in advance

hi mohammad
i,m facing a problem such as yours.
i,m simulating a big wind turbine in fluent and i dont know which bc are suitable for this project.
i had set MRF for fluid around turbine and stationary zone for other parts.
after solving whit this parameters my velocity magnitude contours are 0.

would you plz help me????

Not sure if you managed to solve the problem yet but,

Did you check that the periodicity is set up correctly in ICEM? under Global mesh setup.

Also, for each vertice that exists on a periodic boundary you have to define which vertice it's periodic to.
