I modeled an industrial cyclone of 0.99 m radius and height around 11 m. The bottom part of the tangential velocity inlet gave skewness error while meshing in GAMBIT. For that I shifted the tangential inlet duct by 1 mm towards the cyclone axis to reduce the skewness. Now I'm, somehow, able to mesh (both surface and volume) and i've got around 1,60,000 tet cells (I'm still in trial phase). Is this shifting of the tangential inlet duct by 1 mm over 0.99 m radius justified? Moreover I'm unable to generate hex cells which, so far as I know, is better for my problem than tet cells!!! Suggestions will be appreciated !
