Hi all,


my question is about FSI(fluid structure interaction).

i want to couple fluent with transient structural.

my case in fluent is unsteady, and the deformation is important.

now i want to know my case is one way or two way coupling???

if the deformation is not very important, how would be the system coupling???

Have a look at the CFD Wiki on FSI

Here is a figure extracted from a research article of applied mathematics, "A Comparison of One-Way and Two-Way Coupling Methods for Numerical Analysis of Fluid-Structure Interactions".

If your setup implies large deformation then you need mesh morphing so you should realize 2 way FSI, otherwise for small deformation you can use 1 way.

is there possible to have a transient solution and using one-way fsi?
if yes how? is there any tutorial about this kind of problem?
