Hi there!

I'm trying to run an optimization on Ansys Workbench. The geometry is created from parameters in an Excel-file and exported by a macro. The macro creates .txt-files which are supposed to be used by ICEM as formatted point data.

The whole setup works fine with the exception that the geometry and mesh in ICEM are not updated. Because of this the same mesh is transferred to CFX, leading to the same solution for every design point.

Does anyone have an idea what the problem might be? Or even know how to solve it?

I have made some progress so far. I used a dummy parameter to force ICEM to uptdate. Unfortunately this only works whenever this parameter changes - otherwise the optimization routine will use the old mesh and geometry.

Is there a possibility to force a parameter to change every single step in WB? Something like an upcount or CPU clock?
