Re: Transient Thermal module in Mechanical APDL in ANSYS

I have used Transient Thermal module to study heat conduction in a 2d plate with 2 temperature boundary condition and 2 perfectly insulated conditions.

1. In the Analysis Settings, I am not clear regarding the meaning of Number of Steps and Maximum and Minimum No. of time steps. ALSO, how can we check for convergence - IN FLUENT, we get a plot of scaled residuals, in this module is there any option?

2. What is the best way to determine the time when the system has reached steady state? Is it by adding a probe at a point say, the center of the plate and plotting the variation of temperature with time?

3. Is it possible to implement this in FLUENT? There is no fluid flow here. Just a conduction problem. If so, how? I am planning to write a UDF regarding the source term.
