ANSYS Icepak, Phase change material (PCM)
Dear all,
I was wondering if it's possible to simulate phase change (melting) with Icepak. I want to simulate a PCM (phase change material), I could not find it in the help. Any information is highly appreciated. Thanks you |
Hi
Hi.. It's not possible to simulate phase change in Icepak.
Irrespective of it's a gap pad / phase change material / Thermal paste, we can only assign thermal conductivity/ resistance or thermal impedance. If any characteristics to be observed, you can do it using any available characteristics curve and final operating temperature.. |
PCM viscocity values

Hello my Dear friend rzyz,
If you still have not found your answer to the question, here it is, viscosity(T)=0.001*exp(-4.25+(1790/T)), the value "0.001" is because of introduce the formula in SI (mass in Kg unit). This formula is true when material is in liquid phase. The reference to access is: Poling, B., The Properties of Gases and Liquids, McGraw-Hill Book Company, New York, USA, 2001 |
