Error: CyclicRegion doesn't work correctly

Hi,

I want to get the total deformation of any point of a tooth from a gearwheel. I have created a single tooth of this gearwheel with DesignModeler and now want get the total deformation as a result of ANSYS Mechanical (workbench). I used a fixed support near the centre of the tooth's attachment geometry and the CyclicRegion feature as shown in the picture (top left). I have also generated a cylindrical coordinate system for the CyclicRegion. My load is represented by a force pointing at a vertice.
If I solve this calculation with the named settings, ANSYS doesn't actually recognize that the tooth's exist (picture in the middle). It shows the total deformation like a torsional wave and also shows a large deformation in the attachment geometry. In real life the deformation of the attachment geometry would be much less and the deformation of the tooth would look like the tooth shown in the picture (bottom).

Does anybody has a suggestion how I can change the settings, so ANSYS will give me the right deformation AND puts only the deformation at one single tooth and not at all tooths of the gearwheel?

Best regards,
Max
