hi everyone,
i am trying to simulate the granular flow in a screw conveyor. i have made the geometry using ansys design modeler and meshing. fluid domain is extracted and an unstructured mesh is generated. now the problem i am facing is are meshing quality is very low and i don't know how to improve it? how to configure fluent? how to rotate the blade/threads of conveyor? Thanks... |

For mesh quality, you would need to apply mesh controls in model details, from what I can understand in your question.. About configuring Fluent, that is quite a broad question so have a look at some basic Fluent tutorials regarding MRF/ mesh motion & sliding etc..

Thanks fresty.
i have tried mesh control methods but the aspect ratio is quite large. it goes up to 30-40. is this aspect ratio is valid? in fluent i want to rotate the screw. is it possible to rotate screw body at desired RPM? |

Doesn't seem like.. pictures of your mesh?
Yes you could do that using both MRF and Mesh Motion model.. |
