Issue With Meshing Imported Geometry

1 Attachment(s)
Hi everyone,

I am a very new ANSYS user, so I could really use some help figuring out this problem.

I recently imported geometry off GrabCAD into ANSYS Workbench, and I have been working with it using Fluent. I am trying to mesh the geometry, and I am having a lot of problems. The mesh process has failed continually, and I'm not quite sure how to interpret the error messages I'm provided with.

I have attatched an image of what my failed mesh looks like, and below is the error message that showed:

"The surface mesh is intersecting or close to intersecting, making it difficult to create a volume mesh. Please adjust the mesh size or adjust the geometry to fix the problem."

If anyone could direct me on how to fix this problem, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Zoey:)

Analyze your GrabCAD geometry once again... your model may have very thin surfaces or minute details that you may have overlooked.. the lowest order of your mesh or the mesh refinement required would be based on having enough elements in that particular minimal model detail to form a volume.. you may also have to edit the geometry to suit the purpose as most of GrabCAD models are more design based than analysis oriented..
Hope this helps.
