Rotating cylinder analysis in Fluent

Hello all,

I am performing rotating cylinder analysis in Fluent.

I simply define rotational speed on the cylinder wall in boundary layer panel.

Do I really need to define rotating frame of reference? (which I suppose is not necessay if I want to simulate such a case in absolute frame of reference).

Also in a turbomachinery case, I experienced that we must define rotating frame of reference. Simply definining rotational speed on the blades in boundary layer panel did not work.

Is this also the case for the rotational cylinder case?

Regards,
