Changing working directory in Fluent

Hi

I have a problem changing the work directory when launching Fluent from Workbench 15 or 17.

When I launch Fluent from Workbench the " Working Directory" option is greyed out and I am not able to change the working directory under Set Up.

Any idea how to solve this issue and why it is not possible to change the work directory there?

Thanks in advance,
Hatef

Hi , just had the same problem.

you have to start fluent outside of WB as Administrator

and then change in the Launcher under show more options,

here you can change the working directory.

Ok update you need to change it in windows according to

Command

You can use the following command after launching Fluent from its text-user-interface

sync-chdir <dirname>

Replace <dirname> with the directory you want to change to. Within WB, it may or may not work since it would affect the configuration of folders. Therefore, WB does not allow the change of WD. Recommended is to use Fluent stand-alone, i.e., outside WB until and unless you wish to do some work that necessitates the use of Fluent within WB, such as, parametric study or FSI.

To change WD on fluent launcher, you do NOT need to start Fluent with admin privileges. You can change it with user privileges.

Solved

Just start the workbench from the directory you want to choose!
