Fluid structure interaction
Hi there,
I have been simulating conjugate heat transfer problem in a pipe. I have modelled the pipe along with fluid volume. that is two zones, structure and fluid zone. There are certain boundary conditions on inlet with certain temperature. I want to know the outlet fluid temperature and pipe outlet and inlet surface temperature. All I want to know is that 1) should I simulate the combination of both in fluent itself or 2) should I use fluid structure interaction. That is fluid volume in fluent and pipe structure in thermal module. Please suggest Will the results vary for both the cases or it will be same?? Both methods you can use. Solving the problem in one of the solvers is preferred, since data exchange take time. Secondly, it's better you use CFD solver for heat transfer problems since finite volume method gives better results compared to finite element method used in most structural solvers
