Hello everyone,

I've been using Ansys for some time now. I had no problems to make my simulations using CFX and everything was fine.

But one day, I wanted to use CFX, I opened my project and when I wanted to edit CFX-pre, the workbench displayed the following message:

Quote:
Application failed to connect
System.ApplicationException: Échec de la connexion de l'application.
à Ansys.CFX.Foundation.App.CUEApplicationProxy.Start (Boolean waitForCommands)
à Ansys.CFX.CFXCore.App.CFXPreProxy.LoadApplication( )
à Ansys.CFX.Foundation.Data.CUESourceDataObject.Edit (IFullContext context, Boolean interactive)
à Ansys.Core.Commands.Concurrency.CommandWorkUnit.ex ecuteInContext(CommandContext subContext, IExecutionEngineCallback tracer)
à Ansys.Core.Commands.Concurrency.BaseWorkUnit.doExe cute(IExecutionEngineCallback executionEngine, CommandContext subContext)
à Ansys.Core.Commands.Concurrency.BaseWorkUnit.Execu te(IExecutionEngineCallback executionEngine, Boolean dontCatchExceptions)
--- Ansys.Core.Commands.CommandFailedException: Échec de la connexion de l'application.
CommandName: CFX.EditSetup(Container="Setup")
à Ansys.Core.Commands.CommandAsyncResult.RethrowFail ureException(Exception e)
à Ansys.Core.Commands.CommandAsyncResult.Wait(Int32 milliSecondsTimeout, Boolean exitContext)
à Ansys.CFX.CFXCore.Commands.EditSetupCommand.Invoke AndWait(IProtectedContext context, DataContainerReference Container, Boolean Interactive)
à Ansys.CFX.CFXCore.Commands.EditSetupGui.Invoke(Gui OperationContext context)
à Ansys.UI.GuiOperationContext.Invoke(GuiOperationMe taData operationData)
à Ansys.UI.UIManager.InvokeOperationCore(String pseudoname, OperationDelegate callback, Boolean allowOSMessages, Boolean coreTransaction)
I checked for solutions and the only thing I found was on this link
http://www.esss.com.br/suportecae/in...es/Page592.htm

I tried what was suggested but it didn't worked.

I also tried to run CFX without using Workbench, I god the following messages:
Quote:
Impossible to find MSVCP110.dll
Impossible to find MSVCR110.dll
So I downloaded those two files and put them in the right place. But then the message "CFX can not open (0xc00007b)" appeared, and I still couldn't open CFX...

So I tried to reinstall ansys 18.0 again, didn't worked...

I think this is because of a recent update of Windows 10 but I'm not 100% sure.

Do you have any solution or do you know how to reset completly every Ansys parameters?

Than you in advance

UPDATE:
After reinitializing my whole PC , CFX is working again .
It seems that the problem came from some corrupted files (.dll I guess) which were removed with the reinitialization.
