Hi all,
I am trying to model the fluid film in a journal bearing in CFD. The bearing is a two pad bearing that is fully flooded. I am trying to include turbulence in my model. I am using the k-omega SST model. I have created models in both CFX and in Fluent. I have run the model and varying rotor speeds in order to get the turbulent model to work. This has resulted in Reynolds numbers ranging from 200-20000+. I have y+ values in the range from 0.1-0.8. The model is always resulting in turbulent variables occurring at the inlet but then dropping off instantly and being constant across the rest of the film. |
